The hashtag #doctor has been viewed by 1.1 billion people on TikTok. #medicine has been viewed by 4.3 billion people and #usmlestep1 has been viewed by 2.1 million. Yesterday I found out that the CDC has changed the treatment recommendations for gonorrhoea from a TikTok video! On my last practice exam, I used information that I had learned from various TikTok sources to scrape in a handful of questions. I’m not saying toss away the text books and question banks in exchange for the for you page but it’s definitely been crazy to see this social media technology be beneficial for more than just an LOL.
