​This lesson reviews the pathophysiology, presentation, diagnosis, and treatment of hypercalcemia and hypocalcemia, including calcium regulation, 1° hyperparathyroidism, malignancy, parathyroid aplasia, pseudohypoparathyroidism, post-total thyroidectomy, vitamin D deficiency, and acute pancreatitis. Learn the optimal algorithm for investigation of hypercalcemia and how doctors approach the regulation of calcium and phosphorus by PTH and Vitamin D.
